Switchgear and panel builders

High-mix, drawing-driven work where engineering changes arrive weekly and lead time decides the order.

Panel building is drawing-driven, high-mix work: engineering changes arrive weekly, batch sizes are small, and the constraint is almost never raw machine speed. It is the time between a drawing landing and a finished bar leaving the machine. Three factors are therefore decisive. First, whether the machine reads CAD geometry directly or requires a re-drawing step. Second, tool change time, because a drawing set with four or five hole diameters spends more time changing tools than cutting. Third, nesting, because a shop cutting to drawing wastes bar it has already paid for. Capacity matters as well, though most panel work sits comfortably inside a 300 to 600 kN machine.
