Busduct and busway machines
EMAC-BDM-SP
CNC fish plate punching, stretching and cutting machine

- Nominal force — punching
- 200kN
- Hole pitch accuracy
- <±0.1mm/m
- Total installed power
- 6kW
Overview
EMAC-BDM-SP produces busduct fish plates, performing punching, stretching and shearing in a fixed sequence. Each unit develops 200 kN and hole pitch accuracy is better than ±0.1 mm/m, which matters because pitch error accumulates across every joint in a busway run. Sheet capacity is up to 6000 mm long, 120 to 140 mm wide and 3 to 4.5 mm thick, both customisable to the joint plate. Maximum hydraulic pressure is 31.5 MPa and the X axis travels 1200 mm at 30 m/min. Shearing produces no offcut. Installed power is 6 kW.

Frequently asked questions
- What is a fish plate and why does it need its own machine?
- It is the joint plate that clamps two busway sections together. It needs punching, stretching and shearing in a fixed sequence at a hole-pitch accuracy better than ±0.1 mm/m, because the pitch error accumulates across every joint in a run. A general-purpose machine can perform the sequence, but the setup time makes it uneconomic in production.
